Draft — needs a lawyer’s review These pages are a draft. A lawyer hasn’t reviewed them yet, and the facts marked “to fill” are still missing: both will be settled before the site opens to everyone. On 15 October 2026 the names of things changed — a table for a family, Cook for the role Member, account holder for member, Everyone for Public, guest link for viewer link, follow for subscribe, share for approve, thank-you for tip — without changing any rule; the changed clauses are listed for our lawyer’s review.
OnlyGravy is for families first: the recipes they cook, the cards they've kept, the people those cards came from, and the meals made from them. What belongs here is food and family cooking — recipes, cards, photos of dishes, stories about the people who cooked them, tips, and "I cooked this" posts. Most of what's here is seen only by a table; some of it, by everyone.
These rules apply to everything on the site: recipes, photos, stories, books, posts, tips and profiles, whoever can see them. Our terms of use make them part of the agreement every account holder accepts. When a moderator decides something, the statement they send names the rule below that it rests on.
Nothing illegal
Don't post or share anything that's against the law in Greece, in the EU, or where you live. That includes selling or offering illegal goods, encouraging crime, defamation, and anything a court has ordered taken down. If you think something here is illegal, report it under "Illegal content" and tell us why.
Keep children safe
Nothing that sexualises, endangers or exploits a child — ever. We check every photo against known child sexual abuse images, suspend the account at once, and report it to the authorities. Photos of children belong with their family: when you share something with everyone, tell us honestly whether children are in its photos, and don't share a child's full name, school or whereabouts with strangers.
Respect other people’s privacy
Don't share someone's private details — their address, phone number, health, or photos they wouldn't want seen — without their permission. A story about your grandmother is welcome; her neighbour's medical history is not. If you see yourself or your child somewhere you don't want to be, report it under "This is me or my child".
Share only what you may share
Post your own recipes and photos, and your family's cards with your family's permission (and the heirs', if the writer has died). A recipe from a cookbook or a website may be adapted in your own words with its source credited — not copied out, and never its photos. Never remove or change a Cook's credit.
No harassment or bullying
Disagree about the right amount of cinnamon as much as you like — kindly. Don't insult, mock, pile on or keep contacting someone who doesn't want to hear from you, and don't use tips or posts to carry a family quarrel to others. If someone blocks you, leave them be.
No hate
Nothing that attacks or demeans people for who they are: their origin, nationality, religion, ethnicity, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age. Food crosses every border; mocking someone's cuisine to mock their people doesn't belong here.
No violence or threats
No threats, no encouraging violence or self-harm, and no graphic images of violence or injury. A whole lamb on the spit at Easter is cooking; gore for its own sake isn't. If someone may be in danger, call 112 and report it to us.
No sexual content
No nudity or sexual content of any kind, in photos, words or profiles. This is a family kitchen.
No dangerous food advice
Don't share advice that could make people seriously ill: unsafe canning or preserving, raw ingredients that need cooking, foraged mushrooms or plants without care, or "cures" that replace medical treatment. Family methods are welcome; mark the risks plainly (for example, "keep in the fridge and use within three days").
Be yourself
Use your own name or the one your family knows you by. Don't pretend to be another person, a Cook, a chef, a brand or one of our moderators, and don't link yourself to a Cook who isn't you. One account per person.
No spam or advertising
No repeated posts, chain messages, link farms, or promoting a business, product or channel where nobody asked. Mentioning the shop where you buy the best feta is fine; posting the same link on twenty recipes isn't.
Keep to food and family cooking
Keep posts, tips and stories about food, cooking and the people behind the recipes. Politics, selling things that have nothing to do with food, and arguments unrelated to a recipe belong somewhere else.
What happens if a rule is broken
A moderator — a person — looks at what was reported or held, in its context, and chooses the least they need to put it right:
- ask for changes before something is shared with everyone;
- hide it, so only its writer sees it, or remove it for everyone;
- reset a profile (its bio and photo cleared);
- warn its writer, or suspend their account, until a date or until a moderator lifts it.
A removal, a warning or a suspension is a strike: the account holder is New again for 30 days, with a New account holder's daily limits. For every decision, the account holder gets a statement of reasons by email — what was done, why, which rule, and whether automation was involved — and can appeal once; a different moderator decides. Serious crimes are reported to the authorities. How moderation works explains all of it.
